'The Secret History' written by Donna Tart is about six students of Prof. Julian who are selected to study Greek language and literature from him in Hamden, New England- US. Its a exclusive group. One of the students is murdered by other friends because he couldn't keep any secret to himself. The novel is unusual in the sense that Its not a whodunit kind of a quest. The readers know the murder and the book is about unraveling the reason why. Its a hip kind of story about college life and how much does a character tries to stick to higher academic and ideological purpose. Reading the book is like mingling with intellectuals. Its one of a kind book where the murderers are known but the readers are captivated to 600 odd pages just on the basis of intellectual glamour. Ideas, philosophy and student life is stimulating for everyone. The best campus novel I read so far.
