I am thinking about the world cup players and what they interact. One Portuguese and other Dutch or any combination of nationalities communicating in their own languages in intense pressure games and under public scrutiny. They can be into a heated argument, inches apart and extremely angry gesturing wildly. Neither has the idea of what other is saying but full marks to the referee who knows either English or French but he blows the whistle to cool down things quickly. The traditional jersey swap is a beautiful form of showing sportsmanship .If you are a player from a small country and get to swap the jersey with a global icon then you have got a priced artifact but does the other player do the same ? Is there a protocol for jersey swap ?There is lot more to think about. We as spectators can buy a ticket but the no amount of money can buy you a place in the team or the tag of a world cup player.
